What is an applehead chihuahua? You have probably heard that and many other terms used along with chihuahua at some point. An applehead chihuahua is nothing more than an normal chihuahua. Sure, you've heard the terms like applehead chihuahua, deer head chihuahua, teacup chihuahua, etc. There is no such thing. The only differernt "types" of chihuahuas are short hair and long hair.


People refer to applehead chihuahuas as chihuahuas that have a well rounded dome skull (apple shaped), and short snout. This is actually how the American Kennel Club defines a chihauhua, so in essence, an applehead chihuahua meets more of the definition of a chihuahua.


The bottom line is, an applehead chihuahua is a chihuahua. Chihuahuas, like people come in all shapes and sizes. Some chihuahuas will have a more applehead than others. The most important part is making sure your chihuahua is happy and healthy.
